JEE Main 2022 application process will start in January 2022 on jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main dates 2022 and the registration process will be notified soon. National Testing Agency released the information brochure along with the new scheme of examination. The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is being conducted in four Sessions (February/March/April/May 2022) for admissions in the next academic session.  The official notification regarding the syllabus, exam pattern, registration process, and other information of the National Level Engineering entrance exam will be released soon. As per the consent of NEP 2020 and JAB, JEE Mains is likely to be conducted in more regional languages from this year.

NTA conducts this exam to offer admission in B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch, and B.Plan in 31 NIT's, 25 IIIT's, 28 CFTI's. JEE Main 2022 or Joint Entrance Examination is held via online mode at the national level. The questions in the exam are of MCQ and NVT type. Based on the ranks or scores secured in the examination, candidates can get admission into renowned institutions/colleges in India. Candidates can check more details on JEE Main 2022 from this page. Around 22 lakh candidates have registered for JEE Main this year, almost double last year's record.

JEE Main 2022 Registration process is likely to begin in January 2022 on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. With this, NTA would also release its exam calendar soon on nta.ac.in.

Like 2021, JEE Main 2022 will be held in multiple sessions.

JEE Main 2022 to Be Conducted in Multiple Sessions (February / March/ April / May 2022)

The JEE (Main)-2022 is being conducted in multiple Sessions (February/March/April/May) for admissions in the next academic session. The candidates will thus benefit in the following ways:-


This will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they are not able to give their best in one attempt.

This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.


 

In case a candidate has Board Examination in a particular month or is unable to appear due to COVID-19, the candidate can choose a different month to take the JEE (Main)-2022.

A candidate need not appear in all four Sessions. However, if the candidate appears in more than one session, his/her best of the 2022 NTA Scores will be considered for Merit List/ Ranking preparation.

Keeping in mind various decisions taken by various Boards across the country regarding amendments in the syllabus, NTA has decided that the question paper will contain 90 questions, in which the candidate will have to attempt a total of 75 questions. The choice will be given in Section B (numerical), which will not have any negative marking.

JEE Main 2022 Important Dates

The exam dates are released by the examination conducting body, i.e., National Testing Agency. The exam will be held in two shifts — the first shift (9.00 am t to 12.00 noon) and the second shift (3.00 pm to 6.00 pm). The JEE Main 2022 notification reads:

A candidate can apply for one Session (February) or more than one session (March/ April / May / 2022) together and pay exam fees accordingly. 

Fees once paid will not be refunded. However, it can be taken forward to another Session of JEE (Main) 2022. 

Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate for the same Session(s) will not be accepted at any cost.

Mode of Payment: The fees can be paid by the candidates using online mode through Net banking/debit card/credit card/UPI/Paytm.

JEE Main 2022 Application Form Correction 

It is noted that NTA does not accept any request for a change in details by post/fax or email. Any detail which is to be changed has to be corrected online through JEE Main candidate login. The application correction window will open from 18 January to 21 January 2022.


How to Edit Details in JEE Main Application Form? 

To edit details in JEE Main 2022 online form, you may follow the steps as provided below: 


Go to the JEE Main correction portal on the official website. 

Next, the candidates need to log in using the application number and password. 

Click on the ‘sign-in’ button to submit the login details, and on the next screen, the candidate dashboard appears. 

After this, candidates need to click on the blue button for correction.

Candidates must ensure that all the changes are done correctly and then make the final submit.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must carefully go through the JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) eligibility before filling the application form. Below is the detailed and updated JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria given for the candidates to dwell into:

General Eligibility:

Qualifying Exam: The candidates who are applying must have cleared the Class 12th exam or any equivalent exam from any recognized board or university.

Diploma Holders: The candidates who have done a diploma can also apply for the exam but in IIITs only.

Age criteria: There is no age limit now to apply for JEE Main.

Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts to apply for this exam.

Appearing Candidates: The candidates who appear for the 10+2 exam this year are also eligible to apply.

Year of Appearance: Those candidates can only apply who have passed their Class 12th board exam in 2019 or 2020. The candidates appearing for the 10+2 exam in the year 2022 can also apply.

Institutions wise Eligibility:

The candidates need to score at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class / Qualifying examination conducted by the respective Boards to get admissions to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other institutions through CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board)/JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

The admission will be provided to the candidates based on the All India Rank they have scored in the exam.

Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs shall be as under:

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card follows the registration process. The important points regarding JEE Main Admit Card are given below:

National Testing Agency will release JEE Main 2022 February Admit Card in the first week of February 2022. 

The candidates can click on the online link, and by entering their password and registration number, they can download their admit card.

The candidates are informed when the admit card would be released through the mail or SMS.

The admit card is also needed during final admission and counseling. Hence, candidates must secure a hard copy and soft copy of it.

Along with the hall ticket, candidates also need to carry:


1 valid id proof.

1 ppassport-sizephotograph.

PwD certificate, if applicable.

Note: Candidates should download the admit card and generate a print copy on an A4 sheet. The copy should be neat with a clear print.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern

The candidates need to check the latest changes introduced in the JEE Main Exam pattern 2022 before preparing for the exam. Please refer to the table below for the same:

Mode of Examination: JEE (Main) 2022 Examination will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except that the Drawing Test for B.Arch. will be held in “Pen & Paper” (offline) mode

Duration of Examination: 3 Hours (180 Minutes); Candidates who wish to appear for B.Arch, as well as B.Planning, will have the duration of examination 3.30 hrs

The medium of Question Paper: Drawing from the National Education Policy (NEP), the JEE (Main) 2022 will be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi, English and Gujarati.

Marking Scheme: +4 for every correct answer, -1 for every wrong answer, No Negative Marking for Numerical Value-Based Questions

JEE Main 2022 Question Papers

After the exam is over, NTA releases JEE Main 2022 question papers for all shifts and days on the official website. For the first time, the exam pattern of JEE Main was changed this year. NTA made a few major changes, like:


Instead of Paper 1 and 2, now there are 3 papers for B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan.

Numericavalue-typepe questions have been added.

The number of questions in the paper has been changed.

JEE Main 2022 Answer Key

NTA released JEE Main Answer Key via online mode. Following are the main points regarding the same:

The candidates can access the answer key by entering their password and the application number. 

The candidates can cross-check their answers by downloading the answer key and tallying the response with the answers given, hence calculating their probable score.

NTA will upload the Answer key for candidates to challenge.

Candidates are required to pay an amount of Rs. 1000/- for submitting proof for challenging each answer.

JEE Main 2022 Result

NTA JEE Main 2022 Result will be declared on the official website. The candidates will have to enter their Application number and birth date to check their results. The scorecard will be released online after the announcement of the results.

JEE Main Scorecard is released separately for the first and second attempts of the exam.

The authority announces the rank after the second attempt only.

NTA JEE 2022 Tie Breaker Rule

In case the candidate's score after the declaration of result is found equal with the other candidate, then the tie would be resolved in the following descending order:

Score in Mathematics.

Score in Physics / Score in Aptitude Test (in case of B.Arch/B.Planning).

Score in Chemistry / Score in Drawing Test (in case of B.Arch) / Score in Planning Based Questions (B.Planning).

Candidates having a lesser number of negative responses in the paper.

Candidates older in Age.

JEE Main 2022 Cut Off

JEE Main 2022 Cut Off will be released by NTA online mode. The candidates need to score the cut-off marks to appear in the All India centralized counseling process. The cut-off marks for various categories will be released.

Through JEE Main cut off candidates will get admission into NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs and can also qualify for the JEE Advanced 2022 Exam.

Out of the total number of candidates who appeared for the Joint Entrance Exam Main every year, only 18.18% - 22.72% of candidates are selected for JEE Advanced Examination.

JEE Main 2022 Counselling

The candidates who will get minimum cut-off marks would be eligible to participate in the online JEE Main Counselling Process. Following are the points candidates must go through regarding counselling information:

The JEE Main 2022 counseling process will take place online mode only. The first step is that the students need to get themselves registered.

JoSAA,  i.e., the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, will organize the counselling process.

The candidates would be allotted seats into the institutions such as IITs, NIT's, CFTI's, etc.

The seats would be allocated based on the applicant's category, rank secured availability of seats, and other factors.

The candidates will have to report to the institutions allotted to them after the seat allocation to verify documents.

JEE Mains 2022 counselling will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The JEE Main counselling and seat allotment process will be conducted online through the official website of JoSAA. The eligible candidates are required to register at the JoSAA website with credentials.

Query Redressal System

National Testing Agency(NTA) has introduced a Query Redressal System(QRS), an online web-enabled system. QRS's primary aim is to enable the submission of queries or grievances by the registered candidate(s) of JEE Mains 2020 with a 24/7 facility for speedy and favourable redressal of the queries/grievances. Once submitted, a Unique Registration Number will be generated for tracking the status of the Queries or grievances raised by candidates. Thus, candidates are advised to use the QRS portal for fast response before mailing their queries on the official email id- jeemain-nta@gov.in.

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) formerly Central Counselling Board (CCB) is established by the government of India for admission coordination in UG programs in engineering and architecture in selected institutes till 2012.  From 2013 onwards, CCB and AIEEE have been renamed as Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and JEE (Main) respectively. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2020 is an independent body established by the Ministry of Education [Formerly MHRD)] to regulate and manage the joint seat allocation for admissions to 110 participating institutes in Joint Entrance Examination. This also includes 23 IITs,  31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 29 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
